I started writing this song in 2018, but it was mostly personal catharsis - I couldn’t bring myself to sing it for anyone. As the Trump years dragged on I found that I just couldn’t hold my feelings in anymore. This song feels deeply personal, but I know I’m not the only one with strained family relationships over the support of dangerous politicians. Though this song doesn’t really offer any resolution I hope that recognizing our shared experience might bring comfort to others in the same situation.
